Sunday was a bad day for Patriots fans, not so much for everyone else…
Americans Misty May-Treanor and Kerri Walsh have been so dominant in the sport of beach volleyball that anything less than a gold medal would have been disappointment. Fortunately, they got that gold, with a straight set victory over the powerhouse country of these games, China.
Here they are with Meredith Viera, talking about their gold medal victory-never a sure thing, as the U.S Women’s softball team learned. They failed to win the gold medal for the first (and last, softball is no longer an Olympic sport) time, settling for the silver after a disappointing 3-1 upset loss to Japan.
You say that USeeThat isn’t bringing you enough of our Olympic superstars? You can see Michael Phelps and Shawn Johnson anywhere. Here we give you American Olympic gold medal discus champion Stephanie Brown Trafton!

Here’s some footage of the minor league baseball fight between the Peoria Chiefs and the Dayton Dragons in which 17 people were ejected. A few hit batsmen followed by a hard slide precipitated the melee. Watch as the mentally challenged Julio Castillo, pitcher for Peoria, hurls a baseball into the stands for no apparent reason, sending a fan to the hospital. Way to set an example for the kids, Julio!
In the final seconds of the WNBA game between the Detroit Shock and the LA Sparks, the Shock upheld a fine Detroit basketball tradition by getting involved in a massive brawl which resulted in three ejections and Cheryl Ford leaving in a wheelchair. Oh, and when the smoke cleared, the Sparks won 84-81.

It seems like Patrick was right and handled the situation well, although maybe Duno was just a little embarrassed. I don’t know, since I know nothing about auto racing. Maybe if they decide to settle it on the runway in Milan I’ll have a better perspective.
Here’s former NFL star Vai Sikahema making short work of Jose Canseco, ex-Oakland Athletics all-star and famous whistle blower on the MLB steroid problem. From the looks of this, it seems like Canseco should stick to what he does best… writing books.
Josh Hamilton slugged an amazing 28 home runs in the first round of the 2008 Home Run Derby in Yankee Stadium. Even more amazing was that his BP pitcher, Claybon Counsil, his old American Legion pitching coach, was 71 years old. Even more amazing is that up until last year, Hamilton was out of the league, for most of that time fighting a losing battle with drug addiction. Even more amazing is that Hamilton could only muster three home runs in the final round and lost to the 5 dingers of HR Derby Champ Justin “No More” Morneau.
